FOTA LIBRARY
The arts community in Woodstock, Georgia graciously extended an invitation to house the library within the office space of Woodstock Arts. This art community is known by their slogan, "The Arts Are Our Heartbeat."
Currently our library is housed within a conference room that is temperature controlled, secure, and periodically available to FOTA for library visits. We are planning to announce upcoming dates when the library will be open for members

Board member Carol Gray shared this history with the guild via email:
Over the years, many books were purchased or donated to build our library. At first, the books were stored in plastic bins and kept in a locked closet at Columbia Seminary. They were only displayed at general meetings. Eventually our members met at Trinity United Methodist Church in downtown Atlanta, where the books were kept on bookshelves in the minister’s office. When we left the church for other meeting places in the Buckhead area, the books were once again packed into plastic bins and stored in a locked closet. Due to Covid, we were no longer able to meet in person, so the books remained in storage. At last, our book collection has found a new home on the bookshelves of the conference room at the Arts Center in Woodstock, GA.
Thanks to the efforts of Marcia Watt and Karen Debrot, before our library left Trinity, it was culled and recorded on an app called LibraryThing. If you would like to see the listing of 339 books, plus numerous magazines, photo albums, binders full of exemplars, videos, dvds, etc. go to www.librarything.com name: LFota
Our current plan is to set up a schedule whereby we visit our library on a quarterly basis. We could carpool and make a day of it-browse, sketch and photograph to our hearts content-however, check out of books will not be permitted.
Details for arranging a visit will follow soon. In the meantime, peruse the list of materials on the Library Thing catalog. AND if you have any interest in assisting with this project, FotA is in need of a Librarian!
